School Council

The School Council plays a key role at Waverley Meadows Primary School and participating as a school council member is a rewarding and challenging experience. The School Council supports our principal to provide the best possible educational outcomes for the students of Waverley Meadows.

Our School Council is formed of parents, the principal, staff, and a community member. We run School Council elections in February or March each year and all parents or guardians of students enrolled at the school are eligible to vote for parent members.  Staff vote for Department employee members and community members are co-opted by the school council.

The school council has particular functions in setting and monitoring the school’s direction. The School Councils has three main responsibilities:

  • Policy development and review
    • developing, reviewing and updating policies that reflect our school’s values and support Waverley Meadows’ broad direction outlined in the strategic plan.

Other key functions of the Waverley Meadows Primary School Council includes:

  • raising funds for school related purposes
